Limited to Six Horse-and-Rider Participants
To keep the clinic personal and allow plenty of hands-on time, participation is limited to six horse-and-rider combinations. Each rider will have time for an individual evaluation, test ride, and questions about the options available for both horse and rider.
Advance registration, horse-and-rider approval, and payment are required to reserve your space.
Is this Clinic a Good Fit for You and Your Horse?
Treeless saddles can be a wonderful option, but they are not the best fit for every horse or rider. To make sure the clinic is appropriate, safe, and beneficial for everyone, each horse-and-rider combination will be reviewed before registration is confirmed.
Upon registration, please submit current photos and basic information about your horse, your riding experience, and how you plan to use the saddle will be requested. This allows me to identify any concerns beforehand and ensure that a Ghost saddle is a reasonable option to explore during the clinic.
Generally, participating horses should be in suitable physical condition and free from known or suspected back pain, significant muscle loss, or other issues that could affect saddle fit.
Because a treeless saddle provides close contact with less rigid structure than a traditional treed saddle, riders should have a reasonably balanced, independent seat and be comfortable maintaining their position without relying heavily on the saddle, reins, or stirrups for support. Treeless saddles tend to make rider balance and asymmetry more noticeable, so having a secure basic riding position helps create a safer and more productive experience.
This preliminary review is simply intended to help determine whether the clinic is likely to be a good fit for you and your horse. Approval to participate does not guarantee that a Ghost saddle will ultimately be recommended, as the final recommendation will depend on the in-person evaluation.
What Does the Required 9:00 a.m. Start Mean?
All participants must be present and ready for the group session to begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
If you are bringing a horse, please arrive early enough to unload and safely secure your horse in the designated area before the clinic begins. Make sure your horse has anything they may need while waiting, such as water and a hay bag.
A Hands-On Morning Session
The morning session will cover how Ghost saddles work, basic fitting principles, and the available bases, panels, pads, and adjustment options. Because this foundational information applies to everyone, it will be presented to the group once rather than repeated during each individual evaluation.
This will be an interactive, hands-on session—not just a lecture! You’ll be encouraged to handle the different Ghost saddle components and put your bum in as many seats as possible to discover which models best complement your body shape and riding position. Sometimes the rider chooses the saddle, and sometimes the saddle chooses you!
There will also be time for general questions during the morning session. Questions specific to you, your horse, and your current saddle setup will be addressed during your individual evaluation.
Individual Evaluation Times
Individual horse-and-rider evaluation and test-ride times will be assigned once registration is complete and I've had a chance to review the requested photos and information for each participant. If you need a particular time slot that day - morning vs evening, please let me know when you submit your registration and I will do my best to accommodate.
Please keep in mind that evaluation times are approximate, and the schedule may shift slightly throughout the day. Some horse-and-rider combinations may require additional troubleshooting, and the goal is to give every participant the time needed for a thorough evaluation, test ride, and individual questions.
Participants are welcome—and encouraged—to observe evaluations outside their assigned time. Listening to other fittings can be incredibly helpful and may answer questions you didn’t even know you had!
The entire clinic is open to all registered participants, so you are welcome to take part in as much of the day as you would like.
Come Prepared to Ride during your Scheduled Evaluation Time
Please be dressed and ready to ride at the beginning of your assigned evaluation time. Bring your helmet, riding clothes, air vest & clip, bridle, reins, and any other personal riding equipment you may need.
You are welcome to bring your horse with or without your current saddle and pad. If you have been experiencing fit concerns, you may bring your existing setup so I can help evaluate it, discuss what you have been noticing, and help troubleshoot the problem.
Please note that Amanda is a Ghost Treeless Saddles dealer and fitter, not an independent saddle fitter representing multiple brands. My education, experience, and recommendations are centered around Ghost saddles—and I will happily admit that I have a very biased opinion about why they are superior!
Saddles Available for Purchase
All demo saddles brought to the clinic will be available for purchase, I anticipate having ten - fifteen models. If you need a particular seat size, color, material, or customization that is not available that day, a custom saddle can be ordered according to your preferences.
Current production time for custom saddle orders is approximately 6–10 weeks, depending on the complexity of the build and the number of orders already in production. Shipping from Italy to Colorado generally takes an additional 10–14 days, although customs processing and holidays may affect transit times.
Trailer Parking
The property can accommodate a maximum of six participating horses, with space divided between overnight stalls and day-haul trailers.
Because parking is extremely limited, all trailer parking will be coordinated and confirmed in advance based on trailer size and the number of horses hauling in.
The parking lot can accommodate up to three small day-haul trailers. Larger trailers will need to park along the road after unloading, and horses may then be led down onto the property. The property is gated, so horses will remain safely contained while on site.
Overnight Stalls
Three stalls are available inside the barn for out-of-town participants at a rate of $30 per horse, per night. Stall rates are separate from the $35 clinic registration fee.
Stalls may be reserved for either one or both of these dates:
- Friday, October 23, with departure after the clinic on Saturday
- Saturday, October 24, for participants departing Sunday morning
Participants must provide their own:
- Water Bucket
- Hay and Feed
- Stall Shavings
- Any other necessary horse-care supplies
- Stalls must be completely cleaned before departure
Cancellation and Substitution Policy
Registration fees for horse-and-rider participants and auditors are nonrefundable once paid.
If you are registered for a horse-and-rider appointment and unable to attend, you may request to transfer your space to another horse-and-rider combination. All substitutions must be arranged in advance, and the new horse and rider must complete the same evaluation and approval process. Once the replacement participant is approved and their registration fee has been paid, your original registration fee will be refunded. Overnight stall fees are nonrefundable unless the stall can be reserved by another approved participant.
Moss Rock Endurance reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the clinic due to unsafe weather, facility conditions, or other circumstances beyond our control. If the clinic is canceled and cannot be rescheduled—or you are unable to attend the rescheduled date—your registration fee will be refunded.
How to Register
Because every horse-and-rider combination must be reviewed before acceptance, please provide the following information when requesting a clinic space.
Rider Information
- Rider’s name
- Height, weight, and inseam
- Current saddle seat size, if known
- Primary riding activity or discipline
- Whether you typically ride with a longer, straighter leg or a shorter leg with more bend through the knee and hip
- What you like and dislike in a saddle
- Any comfort, balance, or fit concerns you have experienced in other saddles
Rider height, weight, inseam, and riding position all help determine the appropriate seat size and saddle configuration.
In general, rider weight should not exceed approximately 200 pounds. Ghost’s newest bases and panels can provide appropriate spinal clearance for some riders near or above that weight, as well as specific saddle pad features - but suitability depends on the horse, riding discipline, mileage, terrain, and overall setup.

Required Photos
Please provide clear, current photos taken while your horse is standing reasonably square on level ground:
- One full-body photo taken directly from the side
- One photo taken safely from behind and slightly above, looking forward along the spine toward the withers and shoulders
- One clear side-view photo of you mounted in your normal, comfortable riding position
These photos help me evaluate your horse’s overall shape and identify any visible asymmetry that may need to be considered. The mounted photo also helps determine the seat size and saddle style most likely to complement your body and riding position.
